Veridian Credit Union Fund
Veridian Credit Union has partnered with the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa (CFNEIA) to establish the Veridian Credit Union Fund in order to provide grants in support of Veridian's Financial Literacy Grant and Inclusive Community Grant programs. The Veridian Credit Union Fund will also provide funding through Rapid Response Grants for certain organizations.
Financial Literacy Grants
The Financial Literacy program is intended to improve financial literacy among adults and children. Grants up to $5,000 will be awarded annually to organizations who work to fulfill this mission.
Inclusive Community Grants
The Inclusive Community program’s goal is to create a community that is welcoming and inclusive of all individuals. In order to create a more inclusive environment, Veridian’s current focus and priority is on the following underrepresented groups:
- Persons with disabilities
- Persons of modest means, low income
- Persons of a minority group (African American, Asian, Bosnian, Latino and Native American)
Inclusion is the valued participation of all people in every aspect of community life. Inclusive organizations provide opportunities to participate in activities alongside members of the broader community. Grants up to $5,000 annually will be awarded to organizations who work to fulfill this mission.
Rapid Response Grants
Rapid Response Grants have been established to help organizations address unforeseen, unbudgeted needs of their organizations or their clients, and to respond to immediate situations or provide time-sensitive solutions to urgent issues.
Only organizations which have submitted a Letter of Intent for Veridian Credit Union Fund's 2012 funding process and been approved (regardless of the status of any subsequent Financial Literacy or Inclusive Community Grant proposal) are eligible for Rapid Response Grants. Apply for a Rapid Response Grant.
Below is the timeline for Veridian Grants. Questions about the application, the timeline or the process should be directed to Tom Wickersham at CFNEIA at (319) 287-9106.
