Cedar Rapids, IA
- - - Veridian Credit Union will host its ninth ArtShare Premiere in Cedar Rapids on Wednesday, February 24 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. The exhibit, to be held at Veridian’s Blairs Ferry branch located at 5805 Rockwell Drive is free and open to the public.
ArtShare is an award-winning program designed by Veridian to increase the awareness of young artists in the community. Veridian will display more than 25 two and three-dimensional pieces created by art students from Marion High School.
During the premiere, students will not only be given an opportunity to see their works of art on display, they will also have the chance to participate in a genuine art gallery premiere. The event will include refreshments, a program identifying the artists featured and a map of where to find each work of art on display. Attendees will be able to roam the lobby and take in the artwork just as they would at any other gallery.
Veridian partners with Kyle’s Framing Gallery of Marion to professionally frame the two-dimensional art pieces. The framed artwork, as well as pottery and sculptures are returned to the students after they are displayed for six months.
