Traditional IRA

Choose a traditional IRA if you want the tax deduction right now. It also makes sense if you anticipate paying taxes at a significantly lower rate in retirement. The money invested in a Traditional IRA is tax-free when the initial contribution (deposit) is made and the withdrawals are taxed.

Roth IRA

With a Roth IRA, your contributions are taxed now, and you can make withdrawals at any time tax free* and without penalty. Plus, you’re not required to take mandatory withdrawals until you are 70 and a half years old.
