Veridian Credit Union Fund
Grant Guidelines
Veridian Credit Union® has partnered with the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa (CFNEIA) to establish the Veridian Credit Union Fund. This fund provides financial support to all of Veridian’s grant recipients.

Grants from Veridian include:

Financial Literacy Grants
The purpose of the Financial Literacy Grant is to improve financial literacy among adults and children. Applicants must describe how financial literacy is a big part of what happens at their organization. Grants up to $5,000 annually will be awarded.

An organization is providing “financial literacy” when adults and children gain the knowledge, skills and ability to successfully manage their finances. When positive decisions are practiced, the adult or child’s overall well-being improves.

Inclusive Community Grants
The purpose of the Inclusive Community Grant is to create a community that is welcoming and inclusive of all individuals. In order to create a more inclusive environment, Veridian has chosen to focus and place priority on the following underrepresented groups:
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Persons of modest means, low income
  • Persons of a minority group (African American, Asian, Bosnian, Latino and Native American)
Inclusion is the valued participation of all people in every aspect of community life. Applicants must describe how inclusion is a big part of what happens at their organization. Grants up to $5,000 annually will be awarded.

An “inclusive” organization has activities that support the participation and interaction of underrepresented groups and members of the broader community.

Rapid Response Grants
Rapid Response grants have been established to assist non-profit organizations and/or their clients. This funding will help the recipient:

  • Address unforeseen, emergency (ex. Burglary, natural disaster, etc.)
  • Respond or provide solutions to urgent issues, which have immediate or time-sensitive deadlines

Organizations may only receive one Rapid Response Grant per year. Grants up to $500 are awarded.

Only organizations which have submitted a Letter of Intent for Veridian Credit Union Fund's 2013 funding process and been approved (regardless of the status of any subsequent Financial Literacy or Inclusive Community Grant proposal) are eligible for Rapid Response Grants. Apply for a Rapid Response Grant.
