Construction is underway on a building that will include a new Veridian Credit Union branch at the intersection of Ingersoll Ave. and Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway in Des Moines. The branch is part of the third and final phase of the Ingersoll Square development at the intersection's northeast corner. It's expected to open as early as the first quarter of 2015.
"We're very excited to have Veridian involved in the Ingersoll Square development," said Frank Levy, President of the site's owner and developer, West Des Moines-based Newbury Living. "Veridian has been a valuable partner in collaborative efforts to ensure this final phase is developed in a way that best serves the needs of the neighborhood and the city."
Veridian's new branch will anchor a high-density, mixed-use building along the Ingersoll Avenue Corridor, which serves as a gateway into downtown Des Moines. Its exterior will include semi-enclosed drive-up lanes and a full-service ATM. The interior will enclose 4,973 square feet where Veridian staff will serve members from teller pods, forgoing the traditional teller line. Each station will employ technology designed to further enhance the speed, accuracy and security of cash transactions. The branch will also offer safe-deposit boxes, a self-serve coin machine and a full range of consumer and commercial financial products and services.
"The Ingersoll branch location answers a request we've been hearing from our members," said Shelly McGill, Veridian's Central Iowa Region Manager. "They've let us know about their need for a Veridian branch closer to downtown Des Moines, and we're looking forward to celebrating the branch's opening with them."
This will be Veridian's eighth location in Central Iowa.
