Summary

The Digital Risk Analyst is responsible for monitoring fraud patterns and identifying trends across the digital channel. The position has an active role in managing our fraud detection tools to ensure they are integrated within our systems to effectively analyze suspicious activity. As the subject matter expert, the Digital Risk Analyst will help create and implement proactive risk mitigation tactics that align with Veridian’s policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Create an excellent service experience that is consistent with the Veridian brand.
  • Monitor fraud patterns across the digital channel, create reporting, and present findings on a regular basis. The digital channel includes but is not limited to, corporate website, online membership applications, and digital banking.
  • Using data and analytics, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of current fraud solutions and tune systems as necessary. 
  • Active in research of latest anti-fraud solutions and how they could fit for Veridian. 
  • Identify and implement enhancements or new processes and procedures to increase overall system efficiency and reduce fraud losses.
  • Identify ways to automate fraud detection processes and communication and make recommendations to the Manager of Digital Banking. 
  • Evaluate results of actions to support fraud trend analysis and ensure best practices are followed.
  • Communicate regularly with multiple internal departments such as the Fraud and Dispute Team and the Outbound and Electronic Relations team to proactively identify and respond to member needs.
  • Actively participate in user groups, network with peers, and engage in continuous learning opportunities.
  • Serve as an escalation resource for subject matter experts in other areas.
  • On call availability required for system support as needed (includes nights and weekends).

  • Occasionally lift and/or move items over 10 pounds.
  • Remain sedentary (seated) for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

Travel

Limited travel expected.

Required Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Criminology, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience of 8+ years. 
  • 3+ years of technical support experience. 
  • 3+ years of troubleshooting and defect resolution.

Preferred Education And Experience

  • 2+ years of experience with the credit union's accounts and loan products.
