Why do I have a negative balance in my share draft account even though I have money in savings?

If you keep all your money in savings and recently used your Debit Card to make a purchase, the purchase amount will be transferred from savings to your share draft account. The negative balance represents the amount being transferred to cover the purchase. As long as the funds are available when the debit clears, your account will not be considered overdrawn with Veridian Credit Union.
