What is a chargeback and chargeback fee?
A check chargeback is a check that was cashed or deposited into an account but was later returned to Veridian because of insufficient funds. The amount is then withdrawn back out of the account. In addition, each time a check is charged back, Veridian charges $10, which is listed as the check chargeback fee in your account history. Usually checks will try to clear twice, therefore, two chargeback fees may appear for the same check.
