Pieces were created by Marion High School art students, selected by the school’s art teachers and prepared for public display in Veridian’s branch at 5805 Rockwell Dr. NE. The upcoming ArtShare Premiere will unveil the 2015 collection from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.
“ArtShare is about recognizing and celebrating the talent of our local student-artists,” said Carrie Severson, Veridian’s branch manager. “Offering our branch as their public forum is an honor, and it allows us to share our appreciation for their work with our community.”
Veridian created ArtShare to be a public forum for art created by local high school students across the state. In Cedar Rapids, the display will feature more than 30 pieces in mediums ranging from digital photography and graphic design to drawings and pottery. A preview of the collection will be posted to Veridian’s Facebook page prior to the premiere. After the event, the collection will remain on display for the rest of the year.
