The new branch’s staff nominated nine Council Bluffs-area nonprofit organizations for the chance to receive up to $2,500 as part of the Veridian Gives Back program. The public is invited to vote daily through May 23 at veridiancu.org/vote to select three organizations for funding.
“Serving as a community resource is at the core of who we are,” said Jason Ferris, Veridian’s market president. “Our members and employees are people who care passionately about the community we share. The Veridian Gives Back program is just one way we can serve collaboratively.”
The organization with the most votes will receive $2,500. Second place will receive $1,000, and third place will receive $500. Checks will be presented at the branch’s ribbon-cutting event in June. The nine nominated organizations include:
- Bluffs Downtown
- Council Bluffs YMCA
- FAMILY, Inc.
- Habitat for Humanity of Council Bluffs
- Make-A-Wish Iowa
- Midlands Humane Society
- New Visions Homeless Services (MOHM’s Place)
- Promise 4 Paws
- Wings of Hope Cancer Support Center
