Your outreach is needed
Your legislator is hearing from bank lobbyists. Now they need to hear from you.

Bankers have begun lobbying Iowa legislators again to raise taxes on not-for-profit, cooperatively owned financial services in Iowa. That means your representative needs to hear from constituents like you, Iowa’s credit union members (and owners).
As their constituent, yours is the most important voice to remind legislators that:
- Iowans save $117 million annually on better rates and lower fees at a credit union compared to what they would have paid a for-profit bank.
- Iowa banks have enjoyed seven consecutive years of record profits.
- Credit unions also incentivize banks to keep their rates and fees affordable, which benefits all Iowans and our local economies.
To make your outreach easier, the button linked below will help you identify your representative and their email address, as well as offer a sample email draft. You can edit the draft as you see fit, send it as provided or draft and send your own - whichever you prefer.
Thank you for advocating for cooperatively owned, not-for-profit financial services in Iowa, and please don’t hesitate to let us know if there’s more we can offer to help you in that effort.
