Aysha helps women in need

The Sankofa bird symbolizes “going back to the past and bringing forward that which is useful.”¹ For Aysha, a Veridian member, it serves as inspiration for how she serves the community. 

Aysha’s dream is to help women in difficult situations like she, herself, has been in at different times in her life. 

“I want to be able to give back for the sake of the people that poured positivity into me in my life,” Aysha said. “Just to be able to provide a safe space for women and their children.” 

This dream led Aysha to invest in her first rental property. She knew she would need a mortgage to achieve this and decided to work with the familiar faces at Veridian. 

“Veridian made me feel confident and comfortable during the mortgage process,” Aysha said. “They were very welcoming.” 

Her loan advisor Gigo assisted her through every step of the application. Even after the mortgage process, Gigo continued being an advisor to Aysha. 

“Being a landlord for the first time, I had a lot of questions,” Aysha said. “He went out of his way to help me find ways to screen my tenants and all the different forms for them to fill out on their application.” 

Veridian’s online and mobile banking makes it even easier for Aysha to manage her finances. She can transfer rent payment from her tenants to her mortgage in the Veridian app.

Aysha wants this first rental property to be a steppingstone to owning more rental properties, and possibly an apartment complex. She also dreams of having a consignment shop and providing services like financial literacy and resume writing courses to the women she serves. 

As she continues her financial journey with Veridian, anything is possible.
