About Veridian
As a credit union, we're organized differently than other financials.
As a financial cooperative, Veridian is owned by the people who use our products and services – our members. Earnings are returned to our members through better rates and lower fees. Members also democratically elect their fellow members to serve as unpaid volunteers on our Board of Directors. This helps ensure that decisions at the highest level are made in the interest of our members.
We're also a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), as certified by the U.S. Treasury. CDFIs are financial institutions that share a common goal to expand economic opportunities in low-income communities and demonstrate a mission to promote community development, provide both financial and educational services, and show accountability to underserved markets.
Our HistoryIn 1934, John Deere Employees Credit Union was founded in Waterloo, Iowa, by a handful of John Deere employees. |
